Description
One reel to reel recording. Fishing Industry workshop: Folklorist Taylor interviewed the fishers (Filman, Herrin, Bennett) about the occupation and training, and the issue involved. Filman was from Steinhatchee, Herrin was from Mayport, and Bennett was from Welaka. Net making workshop: Folklorist Taylor interviewed the net makers (Smith, Buzier, Mora) about their occupation and training, and how to make nets. Mora was from Cortez, Smith from Port St. Joe, and Buzier was from Apalachicola. The folklife area in 1987 focused on Maritime folklife, which stemmed from Taylor's work on the 1986 Maritime Heritage Project, and cooperative project between the FFP and the Library of Congress.
