THE STATION BROADCASTS NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC CONCERTS AND METROPOLITAN OPERA PRODUCTIONS DIRECT FROM NEW YORK, IN ADDITION TO REGULARLY SCHEDULED FINE MUSIC, NEWS COMMENTARIES, LECTURES, AND DISCUSSIONS, AND PRODUCES PROGRAMS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO STATIONS THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

THE FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY TELEVISION STATION, WFSU-TV, OPERATES CHANNEL 11 WITH APPROXIMATELY SIXTY HOURS PER WEEK OF NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION OFFERINGS. IN-SCHOOL AND COLLEGE TELECOURSES, AND GENERAL CULTURAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMMING. THERE IS A POTENTIAL AUDIENCE OF NEARLY 200,000 IN THE CHANNEL 11 COVERAGE AREA.

THE INTERDIVISIONAL PROGRAM OF RADIO-TELEVISION INSTRUCTION AT FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY IS CENTERED IN THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES. THE FOUR-YEAR COURSE LEADS TO A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE. EACH STUDENT IS TRAINED IN WRITING, PERFORMING, DIRECTING, PRODUCING AND PROGRAMMING. LABORATORY SESSIONS, HELD AT THE RADIO AND TELEVISION STUDIOS, ARE REQUIRED LINKS IN THE CHAIN OF CURRICULUM.
A TALENTED AND CREATIVE FACULTY THAT HAS HAD EXPERIENCE IN COMMERCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING SUPERVISES AND GUIDES.
IN ADDITION TO HIS MAJOR, THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE TWO MINORS - ONE FROM A SPECIFIC ACADEMIC AREA OF THE HUMANITIES, SOCIAL SCIENCES OR NATURAL SCIENCES, THE OTHER AN AREA OF EMPHASIS WHICH REFLECTS SPECIAL INTERESTS AND APTITUDES IN ADVERTISING, SALES, MANAGEMENT, PRODUCING-DIRECTING, ACTING, MUSIC, OR WRITING.

RADIO AND TELEVISION ARE HEARD AND SEEN IN EVERY TYPE OF AMERICAN HOME. THESE HOMES INCLUDE CHILDREN AND ADULTS OF ALL AGES, EMBRACE ALL RACES AND ALL VARIETIES OF RELIGIOUS FAITH, AND REACH THOSE OF EVERY EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND.
