To: Student Demonstrators

Leon County Jail

Tallahassee, Florida

Dear Fellow Freedom Fighters,

Congratulations on your magnificent fight.

My daughter, a student also, is sitting by my side and we are both writing you of our pride in your courage, determination and spirit - fighting a fight which is also very much our own.

We do not feel we are doing nearly enough, ourselves,

when we see your example, but here's a pledge that it will spur us on to harder and better work for that freedom which is nobody's unless it is everybody's!

We are in that jail with you, white as well as negro, until the good fight is won.

Our heartiest and most sincere support, which will be followed upon this moment with a letter protesting your jailing to Governor Collins!

Yours for a truly free America!
