L-R: Reverend C. K. Steele, John Boardman and Reverend J. Raymond Henderson of California at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Boardman, a white FSU student pursuing a doctorate in physics, was expelled in 1957 after inviting African American students from Florida A&M University to attend a Christmas party held by FSU's International Club. This violated the University's regulation prohibiting multiracial social events, which Boardman told University officials he did not intend to follow.
