Eicole Tamajo, Duke of Castellucia, an Italian nobleman who married Jennie Anheuser of the Budweiser beer family built this home on Merritt Island using lumber salvaged from the wrecked sailing ship "Santa Cruz" completing it on December 15, 1881.

Later, the "Dummitt Castle" was sold to the Florida Fruit Company who then sold it to an Ohio judge who lived there until 1895. For a while it was used as a hunting lodge and in 1905, Eugene J.A. Drennan became its sole owner. Preservationists, under the supervision of the Brevard County Historical Society, had the octagonally-shaped "Duke's Castle" moved to Parrish Park in 1964 when the property was taken over for the Spaceport expansion. The mansion burned down in December of 1967.
